Iskandar Puteri City Council (MBIP) has received the RCE 2023 Award for the Outstanding Flagship Project category through the Iskandar Puteri Low Carbon Initiative (IPRK). This initiative also received cooperation from strategic partners such as Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA), Johor State Education Department (JPNJ) and SWM Environment who are so committed to increasing and recognizing low carbon efforts among the Iskandar Puteri community.

The award is an international recognition that highlights projects and programs that connect local and global perspectives in sustainable development, involving transformational learning and research, as well as initiatives that contribute to community engagement, research & development, and capacity building of stakeholders and partners.
