LAUNCHING CEREMONY OF THE JOHOR BERSIH PROGRAM AT THE ISKANDAR PUTERI CITY COUNCIL LEVEL

i. JALAN ANGKAT PLOGGING ACTIVITY (PJA) IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE JOHOR BERSIH CAMPAIGN

The launch of the first Johor Bersih Campaign was launched simultaneously throughout the State of Johor on 2 July 2022. The launch ceremony of the Johor Bersih Campaign at the administrative level of the Iskandar Puteri City Council was held at two locations, namely Marina Walk, Puteri Harbor and Jalan Makmur 12, Taman Damai Jaya. The Johor Bersih campaign was successfully completed by the Honorable Menteri Besar of Johor, Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi. With a favorable approach and response, the program bore fruit where almost 300 tons of garbage were collected and cleaned within a year only in the Johor Bahru area. The sacred slogan ‘Johor Bersih’ is an initiative of the state government to foster the habit of maintaining hygiene as a daily life practice and received a positive reaction from the local community of multiple religions and races. At the same time, Johor Bersih is also a state government campaign under the Fifth Core of Johor's Advanced Agenda which is Safety, Cleanliness and Environment.

Following the Johor Bersih slogan, a plogging activity known as the Lift Road Program (PJA) was carried out every Sunday from 7.30am to 8.30am. This program also involves collaboration between Government Agencies, NGOs, Statutory Bodies and local residents such as YB Exco Local Government Office, YB Exco Environment, Johor Bahru District Office, Irrigation and Drainage Department, Johor Bahru District Land Office, Johor Bahru District Religious Office, Royal Malaysian Police, MBIP, Public Works Department, Information Department, Fire and Rescue Department, Civil Defense Agency, SWCorp, SWM (E), Youth Council and Southern Volunteers, Johor People's Infrastructure Group, SAJ, TNB, IIB and other agencies.

ii. JOHOR BERSIH PROGRAM WITH YOUNG LEADERS OF ISKANDAR PUTERI ZONE SCHOOL

Responding to Johor Bersih's 100-day recommendation, Johor State PUSPANITA & Iskandar Puteri City Council (MBIP) held a Johor Bersih Program with Iskandar Puteri Zone School Young Leaders. A total of 187 students from 4 schools in the Iskandar Puteri Zone have been involved in fostering awareness of caring for and preserving the environment among school students. Also present with the Honorable Puan Sri Datin Dr Hajah Noor Azizah binti Abdul Latif, Johor State Puspanita Chairman and the Blessed Datin Hajah Norita binti Zaini, MBIP Puspanita Chairman . On that day, an aerobics session was held, a Mudball making briefing and a PLOGGING activity with the school students.
