FIRST DAY OF GUCI SEMINAR 2024: PAVING THE WAY TOWARDS A LOW CARBON SOCIETY
The GUCI 2024 seminar began by gathering stakeholders from the government sector, academia, society, and industry to collaborate in sustainable development in Johor, especially in Iskandar Puteri. This seminar aims to create synergy between certain sectors to achieve the goal of low carbon development and sustainability at the state and national level.
The two main "Keynote Speech" sessions were delivered by Mr. Ong Pang Yen from Sunway Group with the speech on "Sustainable Development for All" which emphasized the importance of inclusive sustainable development for all levels of society, and the second session by Yang Berhormat Dato' Ir. Hasni bin Mohammad with the speech on "Sustainable Development in Johor" which provides a comprehensive overview of sustainable development efforts in Johor and the important role played by all parties.
The seminar also featured three speakers who gave critical input on sustainability issues in Malaysia, and discussed important topics including green technology, urban management, and social responsibility, all aimed at building a more sustainable society.
The seminar participants also engaged in two discussion forum sessions that focused on the importance of collaborating between sectors such as government, community, industry, and academia in creating meaningful changes to address the challenges of climate change.
Interactive exhibitions held throughout the seminar showcased various green technology innovations and low-carbon urban development projects, giving participants the opportunity to see how technology and innovation can be integrated into everyday life.
Through today’s session of the seminar, various spaces and opportunities are opened for discussion and collaboration. Thank you to all attendees and participants. Stay tuned for more exciting sessions throughout the event, which will continue to inspire everyone to get involved in sustainable development and climate action.
