FLOOD RESERVOIR EXCAVATION WORK : PROACTIVE EFFORTS TO FACE THE RISK OF CLIMATE CHANGE AND FLOODING
The Iskandar Puteri City Council (MBIP) has taken proactive measures to ensure more effective flood risk management by carrying out periodic excavation of flood reservoir bottom works in potential areas.
This effort aims to ensure that the flood reservoirs are always in optimal condition and able to accommodate the increased amount of rainwater, especially in the face of the threat of climate change that is becoming more apparent and the effects of the Northeast Monsoon (MTL).
Preventive measures like this play an important role in ensuring the safety and well-being of residents, in addition to protecting property from the unexpected effects of floods. Hopefully with this continuous effort it can have a positive impact in dealing with climate change and floods.
