The Iskandar Puteri City Council (MBIP) has taken immediate action by conducting a site visit with the parties involved in the affected locations, namely Jalan Zapin, Jalan Baung, Kampung Poh Chee Leng, and Jalan Persiaran Impian Emas, Batu 10 Skudai.

This visit aims to finalize the mitigation plan and formulate the implementation of flood mitigation projects as well as appropriate control measures. Discussions have been carried out taking into account various best engineering methods to ensure that the impact of floods can be reduced, especially in high-density residential areas, settlements close to rivers, and old housing estates that are often exposed to the risk of flooding.

Increasingly significant climate change factors as well as the effects of the Northeast Monsoon are also taken into account in this action plan. In addition, the increase in Average Recurrence Interval (ARI) or the rate of recurrence of extreme weather events presents additional challenges to drainage infrastructure in old and dilapidated residential areas, which require immediate attention.
