The National Urban Forestry Conference 2024 (NUFC 2024) organized by the Forestry Research Institute of Malaysia (FRIM) in collaboration with the Iskandar Puteri City Council (MBIP) was officiated by the Honorable Dato' Haji Mohd Haffiz bin Haji Ahmad, Mayor of MBIP and was also attended by His Grace Dato' Dr Ismail bin Haji Parlan, Director General of FRIM; The Entrepreneur Dr Wan Mohd Syukri bin Wan Ahmad, Frim Forestry and Environment Division Director; The Entrepreneur Dr Ahmad Nazarudin bin Mohd Roseli, Chairman of NUFC 2024; and Mr. Shahrulizam bin Abd Rashid, Deputy Secretary of MBIP.

The conference attended by researchers, academics, local authority staff, corporate bodies, NGOs, and students of higher education institutions became a platform to share the latest knowledge and research results on sustainable urban development, in line with sustainable development goals.

Key topics include green space planning and management, the application of the latest technology, as well as arboricultural practices, and also cover the role of urban forest areas in empowering community green areas, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and the importance of eco-literacy among the community.
