NATIONAL URBAN FORESTRY CONFERENCE 2024 TECHNICAL VISIT (NUFC 2024)
The Forestry Research Institute of Malaysia (FRIM) in collaboration with the Iskandar Puteri City Council (MBIP) has organized the National Urban Forestry Conference (NUFC 2024) at Pulai Springs Resort, Johor and was followed by a technical visit to the MBIP Urban Forest, Mutiara Rini as the closing activity of this conference with filling activities:-
1. Planting 40 Saplings: Species such as Kempas, Pulai, and Tampoi are planted to conserve Johor's biodiversity.
2. Guided Tour: Disclosure of tree species and ecosystem importance by FRIM representatives.
3. Arboricultural Technology Demonstration: The Use of Picus Sonic Tomograph and Resistograph to assess tree health and risk.
The aim of the conference, which aims to share knowledge, was also followed by nature appreciation activities carried out in the MBIP Urban Forest, Mutiara Rini in examining the role of urban forests in empowering community green areas, corporate social responsibility (CSR) as well as the importance of integrating environmental education or eco-literacy among the community..
