1. Development planning and control.

2. As the authority which controls and ensures that all activities in the area of administration comply with the law.

3. Issue and control business licences, business billboards, vendors and provide facilities such as shops, bazaars, stalls, public markets and others.

4. Regulate municipal services.

5. Provide and maintain recreational facilities, landscaping and public amenities.

6. Provide and maintain infrastructural facilities such as roads, drainage and street lights.

7. Perform other duties in accordance with the provisions of the law.

8. Manage finances efficiently, effectively and systematically in accordance with established financial procedures.

9. Serve as a building control body in compliance with the laws, acts, guidelines, general policies of the Council to establish a controlled and orderly environment.
