Engineering Department
Background
Engineering Department responsible for coordinating maintenance works as well as implementing infrastructure development projects and public facilities under the jurisdiction of MBIP. In line with that role, there are 6 Divisions in the Engineering Department namely :
- Public Facilities Division
- Roads & Traffic Division
- Drainage Division
- Mechanical & Electrical Division
- Infrastructure Control & Special Projects Division
- Contract Management Division
This department has carried out maintenance work and implemented related projects as provided in the Council's budget and other allocations from the Federal Government in line with MBIP's Vision, Mission and Objectives in providing the best service.

Objective
The objective of Jabatan Kejuruteraan is basically to provide and maintain quality, sufficient, efficient, user-friendly and easily accessible public facilities and infrastructure to meet the needs of residents in the MBIP area.
Function
PUBLIC FACILITIES DIVISION- Drafting, planning and implementing development and maintenance project management for public facility work.
- Implementation of Small Projects by Direct Appointment of the Public Facilities Division.
- Pre-contract Implementation of Annual Development / Maintenance Projects Through Quotations / Tenders of the Public Facilities Division.
- Post-contract Implementation of Development Projects Through Quotations / Tenders of the Public Facilities Division.
- Post-contract Implementation of the Annual Maintenance Project by Quotation / Tender of the Public Facilities Division.
- Public Complaints Management Public Facilities Division.

DRAINAGE DIVISION
- Drafting, planning and implementing development and maintenance project management for drainage, catchment ponds, slopes and rivers.
- Implementation of Small Projects by Direct Appointment of the Drainage Division.
- Pre-contract Implementation of the Annual Development / Maintenance Project Through Quotation / Tender of the Drainage Division.
- Post-contract Implementation of Development Projects Through Quotations / Tenders of the Drainage Division.
- Post-contract Implementation of the Annual Maintenance Project by Quotation / Tender of the Drainage Division.
- Carry out minor damage repairs to public infrastructure.
- Reviewing and receiving applications for the handover of public infrastructure from developers.
- Monitor and take action on flood issues (technical).
- Public Complaint Management Drainage Division.
- Drafting, planning and implementing development and maintenance project management for mechanical and electrical work.
- Implementation of Small Projects by Direct Appointment of Mechanical and Electrical Divisions.
- Pre-contract Implementation of Annual Development / Maintenance Projects Through Quotations / Tenders for Mechanical and Electrical Divisions.
- Post-contract Implementation of Development Projects Through Quotations / Tenders for Mechanical and Electrical Divisions.

- Issuance of Letter of Support for Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC) of Public Lights.
- Processing Application for Approval of Street Light / Signal Light / Playground Light Plan.
- Delivery of Street Lights / Signal Lights / Playground Lights from the developer to MBIP for maintenance.
- MBIP Vehicle Purchase / Maintenance / Repair Management.

- Management of Public Complaints Mechanical and Electrical Division.
INFRASTRUCTURE CONTROL & SPECIAL PROJECTS DIVISION
- Drafting, planning and implementing development project management (special projects).
- Process and Manage Land Work Plan and Infrastructure Plan Approval Applications (Roads and Drains).
- Processing the G17 Letter of Support Application for the Issuance of a Letter of Support for a Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC).
- Reviewing and Commenting on Planning Permission Applications / Building Plans / Temporary Building Permits / Billboards.
- Dealing with the registration of roads built by developers in MARRIS data.
- Process traffic impact study (TIA) applications.
- Processing Applications for Submission of Infrastructure Maintenance (Roads and Drains).
- Public Complaint Management Infrastructure Control And Special Projects Division.
- Review of pre-contract documents.
- Manage post-contract development and maintenance projects.
- Manage contract administration.
- Management of the preparation of contract documents.
- Make an assessment of the construction site together with the Implementation Division and the contractor.
- Appointment management and administration of consulting services.
- Service management related to contract problems and disputes.
- Member of the Specification Committee and Consultant Service Evaluation Member.
